    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following; - air freshener aerosol spray bottle in an unlocked bathroom drawer. - two metal pipes exposed in the outdoor grass play area. Tripping hazard. The Manager said that they were opened to fix the toilets by maintenance but were not covered up again afterwards.

    Corrective action. A written response to be provided to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

    A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency.

    Observation. Upon arrival Licensing observed that there was a big round snack table and two chairs blocking a doorway that led from one room to the other main play room. There were two children sitting at the table eating snack while other children were in one of the room eating their snack. The emergency exit door is in the main play room. Licensing explained that in the event of an emergency the children would not be able to get to the emergency door as the table and chair were blocking the doorway from the one room to the main play room.

    Corrective action. A written response to be provided to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following; - outdoor area requires maintenance as it is very muddy and there are areas with deep tire marks in the grass. - thorn bushes coming in through the chainlink fence from the neighbour's yard. - A basketball hoop and basketball shooting unit that are broken.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following items were noted at today's inspection: -Fence at the far end of the playground in broken, this was a contravention noted in the previous routine inspection (Repeat) -Broken window, is boarded up, however, there still remains some shards of glass within the window which can be hazardous. -Thorny vine growing near the entrance of the daycare. -Light covers missing from a few fixtures, please remove light bulbs from fixtures that are no longer in use. -One tall supply cabinet that is not secured to the wall and may act as a tipping hazard. -Spray bottles are not labelled, indicating their contents.

    Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contraventions noted above on or before January 29, 2024
