    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. The following were observed during today's inspection; -Outdoor play area- Toys and play equipment has dirt and grime on it. Swing sets is showing signs of wear and tear. There are sharp edges on the chain connectors. Lots of tricycles and play rides. some of them are visible dirty and broken - Indoors- Washroom sink is clogged and water drain is slow. Small carpet in the entrance is curled up posing tripping hazard. -

    Corrective action. Please provide a written response to address these items.

    Observation. Licensing reviewed the daily sign in/out sheets. Children were not signed out yesterday and no children were signed in today.

    Corrective action. The Licensee confirmed that moving forward the attendance would be documented at time of arrival and departure.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following was observed in the outdoor play space: -space between the bottom of the fence and the ground along the back of the yard -garbage, debris, and miscellaneous construction items present along the edge of the fence -black cloth barrier exposed under the resilient ground surfacing throughout the playground

    Corrective action. Please ensure there is sufficient resilient ground surfacing under the play equipment. Please ensure that a daily check is done to remove garbage, etc. from the yard Please ensure there is no access to the space underneath the fence

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. The following was observed regarding the fence that encloses the back yard: -the fence panels along the North side of the yard appear to be in disrepair -pieces of rotten wood are coming away from the fence exposing rough wood which could cause injury -some pieces of the lattice work are completely missing from parts of the fence -wood pieces that are coming away from the fence are leaving open parts of the fence -the above was observed on several fence panels

    Corrective action. Please ensure that fencing is in good repair and does not cause injury to children in care.
