A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. A tall, wide shelf is not anchored in order to mitigate tipping hazard.

Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

Observation. The facility staff described a staffing plan which indicated that there is no IT qualified staff present for the first half hour of facility operation.

Corrective action. Manager said she will revaluate staffing plan.

A licensee must notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after (a) a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee.

Observation. Licensee did not notify the licensing officer within 24 hours that a child was involved in a reportable incident as described in Schedule H as required.

Corrective action. Manager said she will review RI procedure and requirements with all staff.
