Observation. It was observed that 5 children under the age of 48 months were being cared for at the facility. Caring for more children under 48 months than the allowable limit as set out in the Child Care Licensing Regulation may put children at risk. Submit to licensing by Monday September 15, 2025 , a plan that outlines how you will ensure the number of children does not exceed the age range set out in the Child Care Licensing Regulation.

Observation. Some child files are are missing the date of enrollment into the facility. Incomplete child files may increase risk to children in an emergency. Submit to licensing by September 19, 2025 a plan that details how you will ensure all the required records are kept in the child files.

Observation. A volunteer was observed supervising and providing care to the children. The volunteer did not have on file: -Criminal record clearance obtained from the Criminal Record Review Program - Character references - Evidence that the person has complied with the Provinces' immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. Most of the children's files do not have an immunization status. Some children's files are missing the date of enrollment. One child's file has a hand written notation to not release the child to a parent but has no legal documents to support this. Please ensure all children's files are complete.

Observation. Staff person has no copy of their CRC in their file, nor any written character references. Please ensure your staff file has all components of Section 19 in it.

Observation. Volunteer observed taking child indoors for toileting. Section 19 (5) states that a volunteer cannot provide care to children or supervise children. Therefore, a volunteer cannot be counted in as part of staff ratio and can never be alone with the children. If a child needs to go indoors for any reason, you as the sole care provider will need to bring in all the children with you.

Observation. Children's records do not include a photograph of the child. Please ensure each child's records has a photograph and identifying information that can assist in an emergency (such as an emergency card for each child kept in the emergency backpack). Some children's records missing doctor's information. If family has no doctor, then include the name of a medical facility that the family uses.
