Observation. Licensing used the entanglement test devise and observed entanglement hazard on the right hand side of the 56" slide in the School Age Yard. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of persons in care and must be corrected immediately. Safety Plan put in place during the inspection: staff will position themselves on the climber at the top of the slide if children are using the slide, or make it not accessible until the entanglement hazard can be corrected. Full compliance will not be achieved until the plan has been implemented and completed.
Corrective action. Ensure equipment is free of entanglement hazards.

Observation. Licensing used the entanglement test devise and observed entanglement hazard on the right hand side of the 56" slide in the School Age Yard. This represents an immediate risk to the health and safety of persons in care and must be corrected immediately. Safety Plan put in place during the inspection: staff will position themselves on the climber at the top of the slide if children are using the slide, or make it not accessible until the entanglement hazard can be corrected. - Height of equipment – Highest play surface as reported by Licensee or observed by LO: for toddlers (12 to 36 months) no more than .9 metres (3 feet) for preschool children (30 months to school age, no more than 1.5 metres (5 feet) for school-age children (attending school) no more than 2.3 metres (7 feet)
Observation. Licensing observed that the height of the climber in the 3-5 program outdoor space was 5 feet 4 inches. The facility had an exemption for the height of the climber that expired in May 2022. Manager stated that the approved supervision plan is being followed when children are using the outdoor space. An exemption request will be submitted by October 21, 2022.
Corrective action. Ensure highest play surface as reported by Licensee or observed by Licensing Officer for preschool children (30 Months to School Age) is no more than 1.5 metres (5 feet).
