  Observation. Medicine required in a care plan not accessible to employees.

  Corrective action. Please ensure if a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication that is readily accessible to employees.

  A licensee must display a copy of the fire drill system in a prominent place in the community care facility.

  Observation. Facility did not have a copy of the fire drill system displayed in a prominent place. The delegated staff explained that the facility has been recently painted and has not been put back up.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a copy of the fire drill system is displayed in a prominent place in the community care facility.

  Observation. 2 criminal record checks were not current or addressed to the facility.

  Corrective action. Ensure that each person employed has a criminal record check addressed to the facility.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 2 educator or assistant certificates were not verified. The Manager verified them during the inspection.

  Observation. Upon inspection, there were not any certificates for educators or assistance posted in the community care facility.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. Upon inspection the following was observed in one of the classrooms: - 6 children were not signed in - No children were signed out on September 1, 2021 - There were several Friday's over the past 4 months where children weren't signed out.

  Corrective action. Please ensure there is a record, for each child, showing daily attendance, indicating whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

• A licensee must (a) ensure that behavioural guidance is appropriate to the age and development of the child who is receiving the guidance.

  Observation. Upon speaking to staff, it was identified that a care plan was required but had not been developed.

  Observation. Through interviews with staff, it was confirmed that inappropriate guidance was used as a method for guiding the child.
