    Observation. Licensing observed in the classroom communication book, record of an incident that occurred July 15, 2025, of a child having sustained a gash on their ear while in care (from falling from a chair), and documentation indicated the child's parent had taken the child for medical treatment to the local hospital; Licensing discussed the incident with the Manager who confirmed the child was taken to the hospital, did not need any stitches and later returned to care; Review of the facility file indicated no incident was reported to Licensing related to the incident on July 15, 2025, however per Schedule H, the incident required reporting.

    Corrective action. Ensure the Medical Health Officer is notified within 24 hours if a child has been involved in/may have been involved in a reportable incident as described in Schedule H.

    Observation. When Licensing arrived for inspection, Licensing observed that the Group Child Care (30 Month to School Age) class with 5 children in attendance was combined with the Group Child Care (School Age) class with 5 children in attendance and only 1 ECE staff member was present.

    Corrective action. Ensure that without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.
