Observation. Licensing observed the following: *Construction debris, including wooden panels, dust over all counters where food was observed, and shelving units with wood staples protruding from the shelves, accessible by children. - The wooden panels and shelving units were removed by the Licensee during the inspection. *The hallway leading to the area under renovation was not blocked, allowing children to access the renovation area. *Dismounted dishwasher that was unstable, with exposed hoses accessible to children in the kitchen area. As there were no gates restricting access to the kitchen, the hazard was readily accessible to children

Observation. Licensing observed the following: *Construction debris was exposed and accessible to children behind a wooden shed. - Licensee blocked the access to the debris. *A shed located in the play area have protruding screws accessible to children - Licensee removed it. *A watering hose was observed left across the yard, creating a tripping hazard. - Licensee tucked it to the corner of the yard. *A wooden play kitchen was observed with loose and falling parts, with the upper section unstable. *Play equipment requires cleaning, as some items have accumulated dirt from outdoor storage.

Licensing reminded the Licensee that the licensed program remains operational and the minor incident log book should be readily accessible for staff to ensure incidents can be documented in a timely manner.

Observation. Upon arrival licensing observed that the Licensee, only IT certified staff, was not present. There was one ECE certified staff with 5 infant/toddlers and a few minutes later an RA joined the program to support. As per Schedule E there must be an infant/toddler certified staff at all times. The facility must maintain a 1:4 ratio at all times.

Observation. Licensing observed: * Only bleach and water being used for cleaning. No soap water being used to clean prior to sanitizing. VCH Resource for cleaning and sanitizing has been provided. *Nap mats were stored stacked against one another and bedding was touching. This poses a risk for cross contamination. *Door to garage was unlocked and had many boxes stacked, along with other equipment, that could be accessible to children. This was addressed during the inspection.

Observation. Licensing observed the following: *Bifold restrictors are engaged. *Refrigerator temperature at 3 degrees Celsius. *A large cushion was put up against the heater baseboard in the activity room. The baseboard is warm to the touch. Flammable materials and equipment should not be placed against the heater, as it could be a potential fire hazard. *4 section children storage unit (cubby) approximately 4ft in height, was not anchored to the wall, and could be a tipping hazard. *Door to garage was unlocked and had many boxes stacked, along with other equipment, that could be accessible to children. This was addressed during the inspection, Manager locked the door. *Separate bottles of bleach solution are available for sanitizing activity area and washroom. No soap water being used to clean prior to sanitizing.

Licensing will send relevant resources as requested. Licensing recommends attaching the purchase receipt on the fire extinguisher as a reminder to next service date.
