  Furniture or equipment for sleeping is used by only one child at a time, is clean and comfortable, and is appropriate for the size, age and development of the children intended to use it. [CCLR Sec. 15(2)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that several sleep mats showed wear and tear, with exposed foam that poses a hygiene concern as they cannot be properly disinfected. The staff addressed this issue by taping up the rips on one of the sleep mats during the inspection.

  Maintenance of Equipment: A log is kept of all inspections, maintenance and repairs. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

  Observation. Licensing was unable to observe any outdoor inspection log. The Staff informed Licensing that they conduct safety checks of the outdoor play space before the children use it but have not been documenting.

• STAFFING / Emergency Training and EquipmentNon-critical

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  Observation. The Staff informed Licensing they have not been practicing any fire drills in the month of July and August.
