    A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

    Observation. Upon inspection the following was observed: - There was no record for the emergency evacuation for the Group Child Care Under 36 month and the Group Child Care 30 month to school age. The manager said it was done with the school but not documented. - There was no record of the fire or emergency evacuation drills in the Group Child Care School Age program. The manager said they were not practiced as they practice it at school. The manager said that moving forward this will be done.

    Corrective action. Please ensure there is a record of a monthly fire drills and a yearly evacuation drill.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Upon inspection, there were 2 large air conditioners that were placed up high on a ledge in each of the classrooms that had not been secured to the wall. In the event of an earthquake (or a child shoving the unit), the air conditioner could potentially fall on and injure a child. A small fan that was plugged in & on, was also sitting on a piece of play equipment accessible to the children.If a child put their fingers in between the wires, it would pose an injury to a child.

    Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.
