  In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the signed care plans relevant to the children who required extra support were not at the facility but they were kept at the Head Office.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that all documents relevant to the facility are kept in a single place.

  The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. Licensing observed 4 care plans on site for children who require extra support but no parent signature was on the care plan.

  Corrective action. Ensure all care plans have a signature of parent.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 9 children's files and one child's file was missing a date of enrollment.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all children's files are complete.

  A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the fire drills for September, October and November were practiced and recorded. The fire drill for December was not recorded. Manager said that the fire drill for December was practiced but not recorded.

  Corrective action. Please ensure fire drills are recorded.

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

  A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

  Observation. During the inspection it was observed that only one child washed his hands with soap and water before having snack and the other 7 children used hand sanitizer to clean their hands. When asked about the hand washing routine, the manager stated that the children ordinarily wash their hands before coming to class, after coming to class from outside and before eating. Hand washing routine was not observed during the inspection.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all children practice hand washing often and before eating.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (f) any medication administered to the child, including the amount and the time at which the medication was administered.

  Observation. During the inspection it was revealed that 3 children requiring extra support did not have a care plan.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all children requiring extra support have a care plan available.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

  Observation. During the inspection it was noted that one staff did not have a record of immunization.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all staff have a record of immunization on file.
