  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - A climbing structure in the outdoor play area with no safe 6 feet radius falling zone. - Door to the garage was unlocked and accessible to children. Licensing observed heavy machinery, a bottle of bleach, and tools were stored in the garage.

    Corrective action. The Licensee said she will reposition the climbing structure to ensure there is 6 feet radius falling zone. She will also ensure the door to garage is always locked.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Upon inspection, licensing observed the following: Outdoor: - Multiple wooden frame rotten/loose - Rusted metal with nails sticking out observed around the pillar. - Multiple outdoor play materials had rips on them.

    Corrective action. The Licensee said there is a plan in place to replace wooden frame and pillars. In the meantime, she will find a temporary solution to address the identified risk and increase supervision.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that each piece of furniture or equipment for sleeping (c) is appropriate for the size, age and development of the children intended to use it.

    Observation. Upon a conversation with the Licensee, children above the age and weight limit still use crib as sleeping equipment.

    Corrective action. The Licensee said she will ensure children use floor sleeping mats from now on.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. Upon inspection, licensing observed children's sunscreen and diaper cream were accessible to children. Paint was stored in a storage room which had no child safe lock available.

    Corrective action. (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) The Licensee said she will ensure the mentioned items are not accessible to children.

    Observation. Licensing observed children were not using single use towels to dry their hands after hand hygiene.

    Corrective action. (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) The Licensee said she will ensure single use towel is used when children dry their hands.

    Observation. diaper pad was used in the play room area away from the bathroom and the change mat was kept in the nap room

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing Officer observed the following: - dog feces in the grass in the children's outdoor space - a lawnmower, accessible to children, in the children's outdoor space - an unlocked garage door; on the other side of the door is a drop off the depth of a few steps which could pose a hazard if a child were to fall - a cleaning product within the reach of children in the children's cubby area

    Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is maintained at all times. Licensee corrected all items above during the inspection.

    Observation. Licensing Officer observed 5 children under the age of 4 in care at the time of the inspection. According to CCLR Schedule E, if no child younger than 12 months old is present, a Family Child Care must have no more than 4 children younger than 48 months old in care.

    Corrective action. Ensure to maintain the ages and numbers of children as outlined in CCLR Schedule E, at all times.
