Observation. One day a week, there are 6 children under 36 months old present
Corrective action. The Staff said she will let the Licensee know and submit a plan to Licensing.
14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Fire extinguisher has not been serviced annually
Corrective action. The Staff said she will ask the Licensee to have it serviced annually
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Staff advised fire drill and emergency drill were practiced and recorded but records were not available for inspection.
Corrective action. The Staff said she will ensure records be available moving forward.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection there were 3 loose cords in the nap room. The staff said there is not a staff in the nap room at all time when children are there.
Corrective action. Ensure there are not loose cords accessible to children.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation. Upon inspection the managers name was not posted.
Corrective action. The manager advised she is going to post her name in the facility.
10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - OR SUPERVISION
Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. Upon inspection there were 4 children under the age of 3 present. The manager said on some days there are 5 children under the age of 3 present.
Corrective action. The manager provided an application for temporary placement for licensing to review.
14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - PROGRAM
A licensee must provide to children a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that (c) complies with the program standards set out in Schedule G.
Observation. Upon inspection the staff advised the children have not gone outside for the past week. The manager explained that this can be due to weather or not having appropriate outdoor clothing for children. She has contacted families to have them bring in warmer outdoor clothing.
Corrective action. Ensure a minimum of 60 minutes per day of outdoor active play.
18030 - CCLR s.44(1)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection the managers file was not available. The manager had it available on the second day of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure all records referred to in 56-58 are available.
19320 - CCLR s.59(a) - STAFFING
Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (c) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one volunteers.
Corrective action. Ensure the immunization status is obtained for a volunteer
12153 - CCLR s.19(5)(c) - STAFFING
Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation. A minimum of two character references were not obtained for one volunteers.
Corrective action. Ensure character references are obtained for the volunteer.
12152 - CCLR s.19(5)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection a validation was not obtained for a staff.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff have their certificate validated.
