- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed the following: Indoor: - Multiple paint chips - A hole and paint peeling off in the children's washroom. Outdoor: - Multiple holes were observed on the deck area.This poses a tripping hazard.
Corrective action. Licensee said she will cover the holes in the outdoor deck area and will patch/re-paint the walls indoor.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Fire extinguisher has not been serviced annually
Corrective action. Licensee said she will have the fire extinguisher service annually

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Earthquake drill was practiced but not recorded.
Corrective action. Licensee said she will ensure to record down when earthquake drill practiced, moving forward.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed cleaning products located in unlocked copboards accessible to children. The licensee made the products inaccessible while licensing was on site.
Corrective action. The licensee said the cupboards will be locked.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Licensee said fire drills have been practiced, however records were unavailable for review.
Corrective action. Licensee said records of fire drills will be available moving forward.
13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Licensing was unable to review attendance records, as licensee said they have not been recorded.
Corrective action. Licensee said attendance will be recorded moving forward.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation. Licensee said references have been obtained for staff, however they were unable for review.
Corrective action. Licensee said references will be available moving forward.
