A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. Fire drill records not available

Corrective action. The Manager said they were practiced and took them off site to copy. She will keep updated records of drills onsite

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. One staff's criminal record check was expired

Corrective action. The Manager said it will be applied for today

A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards.

Observation. one of the bathroom sink the seal is pulling away and creating a space that is not easily cleaned

Corrective action. please ensure the sink is replace or repaired to ensure adequate cleaning

A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

Observation. No care plan available for a child requiring extra support.

Corrective action. care plan for a child who has anaphylactic allergies not available ,licensee stated an allergy care plan will be in place

The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. The care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

Corrective action. care plan has not been reviewed , last date was Sept 6,2023, please ensure all care plans are signed and dated each year

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. CRC not completed for one staff, application has been filed and confirmation of reciet received by manager

Corrective action. manager stated they will continue to follow regarding CRC

Corrective action. Please ensure a record of fire drills.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one staff. This is a repeat contravention as this contravention was identified on the last routine inspection.

Corrective action. Please ensure all staff have a record of their immunization statuses.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. Licensing reviewed 2 staff files and one staff was missing a criminal record check (CRC) through the criminal records review program (CRRP). There was a CRC from the RCMP on file.

Corrective action. Please ensure staff have CRC's through the CRRP.

Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (c) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for a volunteer.

Corrective action. Please ensure record of immunization status for volunteers.

Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (b) character references in respect of the person.

Observation. A minimum of two character references were not obtained for a volunteer.

Corrective action. Please ensure 2 character references for volunteers.
