A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

Observation. Licensing observed children starting snack without washing hands after playing

Corrective action. The manager indicated she will ensure children wash their hands before each meal moving forward

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. The emergency supplies contained expired food and insufficient supplies in case of emergency.

Corrective action. The manager said she will obtain emergency supplies for each child in case of emergency

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Daily attendance records were unavailable up until November 1 2025

Corrective action. The manager said the records were not kept, but will keep all attendance records moving forward

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Three children did not have emergency contacts listed

Corrective action. The manager said she will review all files and ensure all information is completed

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (k) the date on which the child stops attending the community care facility.

Observation. Children's records did not reflect the last day in care.

Corrective action. The manager said she will record the date moving forward

A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.

Observation. Emergency drills were not practiced in 2025.

Corrective action. The manager said she will have a system to ensure the emergency drill is practiced yearly

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Licensing observed multiple cleaning products in a washroom cupboard, which were accessible to children in care.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. Licensing observed the home's smoke detector was chirping, indicating a low battery and in need of replacement.

Corrective action. Licensee stated a new battery would be purchased and installed.

A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).

Observation. Licensing observed no records for two children in care. The Licensee stated these had not been kept.

Corrective action. Licensee stated records would be obtained.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Licensing reviewed one childs file, which was missing the medical insurance plan number.

Corrective action. Licensee stated this information would be obtained from the parent.

Observation. Licensing observed attendance records were not complete since opening.
