• LICENSING

  A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection, there was no name of the manager posted in the facility.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the managers name is posted in a prominent place in the community care facility.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (k) the date on which the child stops attending the community care facility.

  Observation. Upon inspection, the date the children stop attending the facility was not documented. The manager advised that she is going to go back through the files and document this and that it will be done for all future withdrawals moving forward.

  Corrective action. Please ensure there is a record for the date the child stops attending the facility.

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

  Observation. A care plan was not created for a child requiring additional support.

  Corrective action. Ensure a care plan is kept for each child requiring additional support, and includes the course of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child.

  In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.

  Observation. Licensing was unable to review staff records for one of the staff as their records are kept off site.

  Corrective action. Ensure to keep in a single place at the community care facility all records referred to in sections 56 to 58.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. Licensing observed that two out of three care plans were not reviewed within a year's time frame. The manager advised that she will review the care plans with the parents.

  Corrective action. Please ensure care plans are reviewed at least once a year with a parent or any other person requested by the parent.
