    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. The following was observed: - Lysol was located in the hallway bathroom -brooms and mops were being stored in bathrooms next to toilets -blind cords were hanging posing a strangulation hazard in more than one room -items were stored on top of cupboards and were hanging over the edge with the potential to fall -mirrors were observed in bathrooms that allow children to see other children when using the toilet. A discussion was had with the Manager regarding the dignity and privacy of children. In the outdoor play area -a new climbing dome was added. there were wood rounds located at the bottom posing a hazard. -bikes were available to children without any safety equipment such as helmets. DOLSOP Education and injury prevention for sports safety. On the outdoor patio the children use with staff: -milk crates were located next the railing which is about 4 feet tall. There is concern that the children could stand on the milk crates and fall over the railing which has a 9 foot drop. -a small portable BBQ with a small bottle of propane attached to it was on a table that was in poor condition and accessible when children are using the space. The Manager said it was used for a children's camping activity. -broken toys and boxes were located in this shared area.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the facility is providing healthy and safe environment.

The following was observed: - Walls in most classrooms were in poor repair with holes or chips in the walls -nap beds in more than one program were beginning to come apart at the corners and unable to be properly sanitized -diaper mats in more than one program were beginning to come apart and unable to be sanitized -tables and shelves appeared dirty
