10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - MEDICATION
If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record or care plan.
Observation. A child with medication did not have a specific time, or symptoms to administer the medication

16010 - CCLR s.53(1)(a) - OR SUPERVISION
Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. Upon arrival Classroom 1 had 9 children with one staff. A staff from Classroom 2 moved the child into the other room until the next staff arrived
Corrective action. Ensure that the staff to child ratio is not exceeded.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency.
Observation. Upon arrival the front door to classroom 1 was locked at the top with a sliding lock, the emergency exit door was locked and unable to be unlocked and opened, the gates in the playground where emergency exits lead were locked. It was discussed that all emergency exits must not be locked.
Corrective action. Ensure that emergency exits are not blocked or hampered in case of fire or other emergency
11090 - CCLR s.15(1)(b) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Licensing reviewed the policy for emergency evacuation and equipment stated in the policy was not available.
Corrective action. Ensure that materials to respond to and recover from an emergency are available.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - STAFFING
A licensee must ensure that each employee (a) is trained in the implementation of the fire drill system and emergency plan described in subsection (1), including the use of any equipment noted in the fire drill system and emergency plan.
Observation. Licensing reviewed emergency plan with a staff and they were unaware of the emergency evacuation location
Corrective action. Ensure each staff is trained in the emergency plan and practices it at least once per year.
