Ruki's Day Care

Observation. Upon review of the Minor Incident Log it was noted that there were no incidents recorded since 2022. Upon discussion with the Licensee, it was determined that records for children who were no longer attending had been removed. In order to ensure that records are complete, accurate and accessible, ensure that all child records are maintained on site for 2 years after a child has been withdrawn from the facility. Submit a plan to ensure compliance going forward on or by June 3, 2025.

Observation. A door to the backyard from the kitchen area was installed without notification to Licensing.

Observation. At the time of inspection the licensee was away and confirmed to be out of the country for more than 30 days. Approval was not obtained from Licensing for the licensee's temporary replacement.

Observation. Through a review of attendance records and children's files the number of children attending each day does not meet the requirements for Family Child Care as per Schedule E of the Child Care Regulations. Six children were in attendance during inspection, all six children were under the age of 48 months.

Observation. Through a review of all children's files the start date of enrollment was missing from all files and one file was missing emergency contacts.

Observation. The Licensee's criminal record check has expired. Persons 12 years and older who resides within the home, does not hold a current criminal record check.

Observation. Child absences are not recorded.
