• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. While inspecting the outdoor physical facility the following was observed: - the fence at the back of the play yard (back yard) was unstable and leaning towards the neighbour's side of the yard. The fence is in need or repair or replacement. - The fence on the side of the side of the play yard (back yard) was unstable and leaning to towards the inside of the play area. The fence is in need of repair or replacement. - Between the fence and the neighbour shed there is a gap of 4 1/2 inches at the back of the yard and 10 inches at the front of the yard. This poses a risk for potential entrapment.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times.

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. During the inspection it was observed that the fire extinguisher has not been serviced this year. This is repeat contravention.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced yearly.

  Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. A preschool child is in care.

  Corrective action. The Licence is for school age, therefore a preschool aged child does not meet the definition.
