Observation. Two children's files did not include the date of enrolment.

19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Six children were present during the inspection and 1 child was not signed in.
Corrective action. Please ensure all children are signed in and out daily.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation. A child with allergies did not have a care plan available for review. The Manager explained that outside food is not permitted in the daycare and a staff said that they check the children's bags before they come in. Licensing explained that a care plan must be available for any children who requires special instructions in the event of an emergency.
Corrective action. Please ensure that a care plan which includes the courses of action recommended by a doctor to address the needs of the child requiring extra support is available.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for one staff.
Corrective action. Please ensure all staff files are complete.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. Observation. One staff file did not have their ECEA certificate validated. The Manager said she thought only ECE certificates were validated by the Registry.
Corrective action. Please ensure that all ECE/A certificates are validated by the system maintained by the Registry and the results are kept in the staff's file.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.
Observation. One staff file did not have evidence of reference checks completed. The Manager said that these were done verbally on the phone but not documented.
Corrective action. Please ensure that character references have been obtained for all staff and is documented in their file.
