    A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

    Observation. Licensing reviewed three staff files· Criminal record check for the Manager expired in October 2024 and one staff's expired in August 2024. Manager was unaware that CRC were due for renewal.

    Corrective action. Manager said Criminal record checks will be renewed and a copy of the results will be kept in files.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During inspection licensing observed 5 rabbit fecal pellets outside the rabbit cage. Staff quickly removed it during inspection. This is repeat violation from inspection #LVIA-CKTREE dated 3 Nov 2022.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that there is a system in place to contain rabbit feces inside the rabbit enclosure.

    Observation. During a review of the fire drill records, fire drills were not practiced for month of December 2023 & January 2024.This is repeat violation from inspection #LVIA-CKTREE dated 3 Nov 2022. Manager said that they had a fire drill scheduled for this month. Licencing officer reviewed this schedule.

    Corrective action. Please ensure fire drills are practiced and recorded monthly.
