- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed in an activity room a ceiling light with no cover, exposing two light bulbs In the outdoor environment; - Disassembled garden house with loose metal parts - Inside gazebo contained work tools, broken chair and other items.
Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and 2 files were missing evidence of a licence validation. Education was provided and the manager completed the validation for 1 staff file during the inspection.
Corrective action. Please ensure educators certificates are verified by a system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.
