  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing reviewed 6 children's files. One file was missing a Care Card number

  Corrective action. The Manager obtained the Care Card number and wrote it in the file while Licensing was on site

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Upon inspection, there were wooden puzzles piled on top of the toy shelf and a large musical key board on top of the cubbies that posed a fall hazard in the event of an earthquake.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while the children are in care.

  A licensee must ensure that children are not (c) left unsupervised while consuming food or drink. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection the Licensee had put an infant to bed with a bottle.

  Corrective action. Please ensure children are not left unsupervised while consuming food or drink.

  A licensee must (a) ensure that a community care facility has (i) emergency exits that meet the requirements of the BC Building Code, and (ii) a fire drill system that is approved as definedby section 31 of the Fire Services Act.

  Observation. Upon inspection the fire extinguisher had not been serviced in over 1 year.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the fire extinguisher is maintained

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. Upon asking to review the monthly fire drill records, the Licensee said that she has conducted them monthly but has not documented it down.

  Corrective action. Please keep current records respecting compliance with section 22 (b) and (c) of the childcare regulations.
