- MEDICATION
If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record or care plan.
Observation. LO observed there was no administration record of medication given to a child.
Corrective action. Licensee stated she would document medication administration moving forward.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. LO observed one fire extinguisher which was purchased over one year ago in May of 2024. This had not been serviced.
Corrective action. Licensee stated she would purchase a new fire extinguisher.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. LO observed there was no attendance record kept since January 2025.
Corrective action. Licensee stated she would keep record of attendance moving forward.

Observation. During a walk through of the upper floor of the home, it was noted that a family pet jumped up on the kitchen counter, where food was open and present, and there was no attempt to remove the pet from the counter
Corrective action. Licensee/Manager will ensure not open food is left on the counter, and will attempt to keep the pet off the counter

Observation. When asked where the Licensee records minor accidents/incidents/illnesses, it was noted that book used for recordings was packed away, and has not yet been found. A new system has not been started either.
Corrective action. Please ensure there is a recording system for minor accidents/incidents/illnesses available at all times.
