- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed a heater cord dangling from a socket above a counter. This posed a risk to children of tripping; choking and/or strangulation.
Corrective action. The Licensee tucked the cord behind a cupboard lock which left the lower portion still looped. Photos taken. Please ensure the cord is inaccessible at all times to children when in care.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. The bathroom accessed by children was measured with a digital thermometer to read 54.1 degrees Celsius.
Corrective action. Please ensure that the temperature of the hot water is less than 49 degrees Celsius at all times to prevent scalding.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].
Observation. Staff file for the Licensee/Manager was missing the following: - Validation of certification - Immunization status - References - Resume
Corrective action. Please ensure a staff file is complete for any persons supervising the children.
