    Observation. Children's files are incomplete. One file is missing immunization status, name and telephone number of a medical practitioner, and emergency contact name and number. The file for one child is not available for review. This is a re-occurring contravention originally found out of compliance on April 1, 2025. It is the responsibility of the Licensee to ensure all children's files are on site and complete in the event of an emergency and to maintain the health and safety of the child while in care. A response is required by April 20, 2026 to confirm all children's files are complete. Two children in care do not have written consent from a parent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance on file. It is the responsibility of the Licensee to have all consents as required in the event of an emergency. A response is required by April 20, 2026 to confirm all consents have been received as required.

    Observation. It was observed during inspection that a child went into the facility to use the washroom alone while the employees and remaining children were outside playing at the park beside the facility. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires that children must be supervised at all times by a qualified person. A response is required by April 14, 2025 that outlines how supervision will be maintained at all times.

  • C8.2 - Is each child provided a comprehensive and coordinated program of developmentally appropriate activities that encourages physical, intellectual, language, emotional, and social development?Non-critical

    Observation. During inspection the care program was participating in outdoor play at the designated park beside the facility afterschool. The majority of the children were engaged in physical activity, however, a few children were observed just sitting on the side. Other options for activities were not observed to be available for the children to choose from. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires that a program of activities is provided to each child that is designed for their age and development as per Schedule G. A response is required by April 14, 2025 to confirm how the program when offered outdoors will meet the requirements as per Schedule G.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. Cleaning agents are being stored in the washroom downstairs in a manner that is accessible to the children. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires hazardous substances must be kept out of reach of children. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on April 23, 2024. Corrected During Inspection.

    Observation. Through a review of children's files it was noted that information for one child was not current. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires that current records for each child identifying personal information are on file. A response is required by April 14, 2025 to confirm all children's records are current.

  • C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical

    Observation. In reviewing the fire drill log it was noted that a fire drill was not conducted for the month of March 2025. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires every employee must practice implementing the fire drill system at least once per month. A response is required by April 14, 2025 to address how fire drills will be conducted monthly by all employees.

    Observation. The FLO opened the sliding window. The safety stopper to prevent children from opening the window is missing. The hand railing is loose and needs affixing to the wall. There are dings and scrapes in the drywall - Manager indicated that the facility will be painted in the near future.

    Observation. Observations: Written policies and procedures in place and available for staff to review. Fire Drills and Emergency response plan practiced and recorded appropriately. Contravention: A review and discussion regarding the Emergency Response plan took place with the Director of Child Care Operations. It was determined that the emergency response plan is missing a recovery phase.
