Observation. Medication forms are on file for children who require medication in one Group Child Care (Under 36 month) program room. The medication was confirmed to have been administered by employees, however a record of when the medication was administered was unavailable for review. A current record of any medication administered to a child including the amount and the time the medication was administered is required to be kept on file for the health and safety of the child while in care. A response is required by April 20, 2026 to outline how the risk has been mitigated. Two care plans on file have not been reviewed in the past year. The development dates of the plans were September 2024 and April 2024. Care plans are required to be reviewed at least once per year to ensure the information is current to the child's needs while in care. A response is required by April 20, 2026 to confirm care plans have been reviewed as required.

Observation. One child's file reviewed out of a sampling of files is missing consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance. The Child Care Licensing Regulation requires written consent from a parent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance for each child. A response is required by April 14, 2025 to confirm all children's files contain the required consents.

Observation. Licensing observed mats used for nap time in one Group Child Care (30 months to school age) program are being stored in a manner where the mats are rolled up and in contact with one another. The mats are not disinfected daily and pose a risk cross contamination while being stored together. A response is required by April 14, 2025 to confirm how mats will be kept in order to maintain the health and safety of children in care. Licensing observed a piece of climbing equipment in the Group Child Care (30 months to School Age) outdoor playspace does not have adequate resilient surfacing surrounding the structure. Resilient surfacing is required to mitigate risk of injury from a specific fall height. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on April 23, 2024. A response is required by April 14, 2025 to indicate how the risk will be mitigated.

Observation. Radon mitigation has occurred in the facility. The radon test results after mitigation remain in the unacceptable level. Further mitigation will need to be done and another 91 day test will need to be conducted over the months of November to January. Submit to licensing the short term and long term plans for radon mitigation.

Observation. Items are being stored on the top of the shelf that is above the toddler change table. The items are overhanging and pose a risk of falling onto the children below. Items need to be stored in a secure and safe manner for the health and safety of the children. Outline the system developed to ensure the safe storage of items. Cots used for nap time are being stored in front of the exit door to the backyard. Emergency exits must be kept clear at all times in case of fire or emergency. Outline the system developed to ensure emergency exits are clear. The climber in the Group Child Care (30 months to School Age) outdoor playspace does not have adequate resilient surfacing surrounding the structure. Resilient surfacing is required to mitigate risk of injury from a specific fall height. Identify the solution for ensuring adequate resilient surfacing is in place.

Observation. Care plans are missing for children who require extra medical support. Care plans are required for children who have an epi-pen or other medical needs that may require extra support. Identify the system developed to ensure all required care plans are in place.

Observation. Fire drill records are missing for 2 months over the past year. Each employee is required to practice implementing the fire drill system at least once a month. Outline the system developed to ensure monthly fire drills are occurring.

Observation. It was disclosed that one child's epi-pen is being stored in the child's backpack of which is stored within reach of the other children. Medication needs to be stored in a manner that is in accessible to the children. Outline the system developed to ensure medication is stored as required.

Observation. Observations: Staffing schedule reviewed in conjunction with attendance records. Staff are appropriately scheduled for all service types. Contravention: At the time of the inspection both Group Child Care (<36 months) groups were in the gym at the same time.

FLO tested system and found child files to be complete, log of minor injuries/incidents unexpected events updated regularly, play space inspections recorded appropriately, children's arrival and departure times consistently recorded, reportable incident reported and mitigated appropriately Contravention: Attendance records were reviewed. In the Group Child Care (30 months to School Age program) occasionally departure times are missing

Observation. Observations: Facility appears to be safe and free from hazards - hot water measured below 49°C and fridge temperature below 4° C. Contravention: It was observed in one room that there were several dings and scrapes in the drywall.

Observation. It was alleged that children were permitted to attend the facility with pinkeye. Staff and Manager confirmed that children have attended without confirmation that the pinkeye had been treated. The illness policy was missing clear guidelines for staff to assess when a child can return to care. This contravention is considered as corrected as prior to the completion of this report, a revised illness policy was sent to families and reviewed with all staff.

Arrival and departure times in the Group Child Care (<36 months) and Group Child Care (30 months to School age) are consistently recorded. Contraventions ; A review of the attendance records determined that the departure times from the Preschool are missing. Director of Childcare programs self identified that the majority of children's images are on file. Several are outstanding.

Observation. Observations: Written policies and procedures in place and available for staff to review. Fire Drills and Emergency response plan practiced and recorded appropriately. Contravention : A review and discussion regarding the Emergency Response plan took place with the Director of Child Care Operations. It was determined that the emergency response plan is missing a recovery phase.
