This is located in the upper play area. -there is a rope hanging in the tree which is right beside other play equipment which does not have 6 feet clearance around it. This is located in the lower play area.

- C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?Critical
Observation. There was an ECE Assistant in charge of the children in the downstairs Multi-age program. This employee works two days per week regularly. The licensee corrected this during the inspection by coming out of the office and onto the floor supervising the children as the qualified ECE. Licensee expressed interest in applying for a staffing exemption for this staff member.

- C10.2 - Are children supervised, and are employee to children ratios maintained?Critical
Observation. Licensing found a staff member running the upstairs multi-age program by herself without all the required staffing qualifications on file and on site at the program during the inspection. Licensing requires the licensee to submit an updated employee plan on how the program will be operating incompliance with Schedule E.
- C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical
Observation. The upstairs program has a current staffing exemption in place which allows the exempted responsible adult to substitute while regular schedule staff are absent. During the discussions with the licensee, this staff member is currently scheduled Monday-Wednesday running the upstairs Multi-aged program by herself. Licensing reminded the licensee of the discussion prior to the exemption approval, of not having this staff member who does not have the proper qualifications running the program by herself. Licensing asked to review the staffing file for this staff member and there was none on site or available at time of inspection. Licensing is requesting evidence to show all current employee files are updated and meeting the legislative requirements. The licensee's own file is not required due to licensing reviewing it at time of inspection. Licensing will provided resources along with this inspection report.
- C5.1 - Are healthy eating and nutritional habits promoted and practiced?Non-critical
Observation. Upon arrival there were four children in the gated area and two care providers standing beside the creek outside the facility supervising all the children. Two children in the gated area were eating food from their lunch kits, while another two children were playing in that area as well. Although the staff were able to see all children in the gated area, the distance was far enough away that there could be an issue if a child was choking. Licensing reminded the licensee that when children are eating there should be close supervision to prevent injury.
- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical
Observation. Licensing discussed the licensee's system of ensuring child records are completed and updated. Licensee stated the facility recently reviewed and updated the files in September. Licensing reviewed files/emergency cards, licensing found a date of birth was incorrect on a child's file. Licensee cross-reference registration form and fixed the date of birth at time of inspection. Licensing requested all child records be reviewed to ensure all information is correct on emergency cards.
- Has the facility been tested for radon gas?Non-critical
- C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical
Observation. The monthly fire drill for March was not recorded for the upstairs Multi-age program, this was previously noted in prior inspections. Reviewed COVID policies and procedures.
