A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

Observation. Licensing walked the perimeter of the facility and while pushing on the fence to check for stability noted that the supporting fence for two fence panels was moving.

Corrective action. Ensure the fence is in good repair.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed: -a plug cable with a long loop accessible next to a nap mat, where a child sleeps. -a plantar, and an bunny cage stored next to the railing on the deck next to where children walk to get outside. If climbed, children could have access to the edge of the railing. -Two gates outside were unlatched. Children had not yet been outside. -Gaps at the bottom of the fence on the far left of the playground, had gaps that provide access to entrapment for children.

Corrective action. Licensee corrected all items while licensing was on site.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. Licensing reviewed seven children's records and of those 2 records did not contain start date for the children.

Corrective action. Licensee will review and consider a plan to ensure files contain all information for children in care.
