Observation. Staff were not always following safe health and hygiene practices when they occasionally changed a child in the classroom and in the outdoor area rather than the washroom.

Corrective action. Please ensure staff are following proper health and hygiene practices.

Observation. Staff failed to inform Licensing of a reportable incident when a child was injured at the facility and was later taken to Urgent Care.

Corrective action. Licensee will ensure all reportable incidents are reported to Licensing.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

Observation. Licensing observed diapering creams in an area that is accessible to the children.

Corrective action. During the inspection the creams were moved making them inaccessible.

Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

Observation. Licensing observed one staff leave the 30 Months to School Age program with two children, leaving one staff with 12 children.

Corrective action. Staff said a system will be discussed in which ratio is maintained.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. The bedding is not stored separately and is stacked in the cupboard in the classroom.

Corrective action. Manager will adopt a system to store the bedding separately for each child.
