    Observation. Copies of any certificates of the person's training and skills were not obtained.

    Corrective action. Licensee will obtain the certificate from ECE registry and include in the staff file.

    Observation. The certificate was not verified by the system maintained by the ECE registry.

    Corrective action. Licensee will validate the Certificate and include it in the staff file.

    A licensee must have first aid kits that are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided off the community care facility premises.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the staff did not take the first aid kit with them when going off site.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the First Aid Kit is accessible to the staff.

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. Staff did not encourage or instruct children to wash hands before eating snacks or after eating and coming from outside..

    Corrective action. Ensure that staff instruct children to practice hand washing frequently.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: -staff did not know the correct number of children outside with her -there is no system to head count or a checklist of how many children are going outside with the staff -the child exited through the door without informing the staff..

    Corrective action. Ensure that chidren are adequately supervised at all times and systems are developed to keep the numbers in check.

    Observation. Licensing observed that on children's records the date of enrollment was missing

    Observation. Licensing observed that the fire drills were not implemented for last month and the previous logs were not available for licensing to review

  • LICENSING

    A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

    Observation. Four staff files were reviewed. Two staff were working in the program during the inspection and one of the staff did not have a copy of her certificate posted in the facility. LO discussed the importance of posting certificates for all qualified staff.

    Corrective action. Ensure certificates of educators are posted in a prominent place in the facility. CORRECTED during Inspection

    Observation. Four staff files were reviewed and one staff did not have a CRC with the name of the facility on it. The staff confirmed that the CRC was renewed and was able to get a copy from the head office to be included in the file.

    Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete including a CRC that is specific to the facility. CORRECTED during the inspection.
