A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

Observation. Licensing observed the manager's name missing.

Corrective action. Ensure the manager's name is on display.

If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (b) readily accessible to employees.

Observation. Medication was not readily accessible to employees because it was expired.

Corrective action. Ensure medication is not expired.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Licensing reviewed attendance and noted that departure times were missing on a few days in June.

Corrective action. Ensure departure times are noted.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. Licensing reviewed 9 children's files and one file was missing an emergency contact person.

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Licensing 9 children's files and one file was missing the following: - sex of child - immunization record

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are completed.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

Observation. Licensing reviewed 4 staff files and one staff file was missing validation of ECE certificate was missing.

Corrective action. Ensure all files are completed.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. Licensing reviewed 4 staff files and two staff did not have a site specific CRC.

Corrective action. Ensure CRC is site specific.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and one staff file was missing validation of ECE certificate.

Corrective action. Manager validated certificate while licensing was on site.
