  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. The care plan for one child had not been reviewed since December of 2024.

  Corrective action. The manager said they will review this with the parent and provide licensing with a written response.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed the classroom television was stored on a shelf and was not secured, providing concern for falling on a child while playing in this area.

  Corrective action. The licensee corrected this after licensing identified the concern to the licensee.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The daily sign in sheet did not have record of all children who were in attendance during the inspection.

  Corrective action. Manager corrected this during the inspection.

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During the inspection licensing observed a plug cables, and an electrical extension block with exposed outlet accessible to children in care.

  Corrective action. Please ensure to that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. DLSOP Safe Play Space – There is no system to document regular checks of the outdoor play area had been completed over the past year. This was discussed and reviewed at the last routine inspection.

  Corrective action. Please create a system for checking the outdoor play areas as set out in the DLSOP Safe Play Space.

• LICENSING

  When advertising or otherwise offering services to the public, a licensee must identify the care program being offered.

  Observation. During the inspection, licensing observed the use of "preschool" verbiage in the polices and procedures, the schedule posted on the wall, and included in at least one parent agreement.

  Corrective action. Please ensure to clearly identify the care program being offered.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.

  Observation. Written agreements for transportation to school and field trips by private vehicle were included in the parent registration package, however a transportation policy was not included in the policies and procedures. Staff said that they had no knowledge of any children being transported in vehicles.

  Corrective action. Please ensure to include a transportation policy based on the section 45 are included in the policies, which are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.
