  Observation. Licensing audited four children's files. Three files did not have consent to release to someone other than the parents.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files have written consent to release to someone other than the parent in case of an emergency.

• A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner (doctor's name and number does not apply to REC only) and emergency contact

  Observation. Licensing audited two children's files. Two files did not have medical practitioner name and telephone number and missing emergency contacts. Both the emergency contacts had the parents listed.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files have medical practitioner name and telephone number and emergency contacts in case of an emergency.

  Observation. Licensing observed medication not listed in a child's care plan on site without a signed consent from parents to administer medication. At pick-up time, Licensee plans to follow-up with child's family to obtain written consent to administer this medication.

  The certificates, or copies of certificates, of early childhood educators and assistants are prominently displayed in the facility. [CCLR 11(4)]

  Observation. The ECEA present did not have a certificate posted.

  Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

  Observation. There is child that has a puffer, however, there is no pharmaceutical tag on the medication nor a signed care plan for this child and the medication.
