    All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

    Observation. There is a plastic swing equipment that does not appear to be safe as it tips over easily and when touched today a piece fell off. There is a second plastic piece of equipment with a swing attached that appears to be showing signs of wear and is not stable. There are a few pieces of equipment that appear to be broken and put to the side.

    Observation. The fence posts at the entrance to the playground are not secure and move quite easily when touched. The back fence ( west) has a string attached to it and is tied to a tree as it is very loose and wobbly. There is a gate that requires attention to ensure it closes.

    Maintenance of Equipment: Thorough inspections of the outdoor play space are conducted regularly. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space] (13)

    Observation. Please remove the broken equipment- the picnic table observed today must be replaced or removed. Continued to monitor the toys and equipment. The outdoor fence to the play area has been repainted several times, at some point this fence will be required to replaced completely. Continue to monitor over the next year. The paint continues to chip and then falls to ground. The toddlers can digest this.
