  Observation. Licensing audited seven staff files and observed one staff certificate was not verified. The Manager corrected the item during the inspection.

  Corrective action. Ensure educators or assistants certificates are verified

  3010 - CCLR 19(4)(a)
• If for any reason an employee described in Column 1 of the table in section 37 ceases employment, the licensee must ensure that within 30 days of the date the employee ceases employment, the licensee has sufficient staff to meet the requirements of section 34

  Corrective action. Ensure that within 30 days of the day the employee ceases employment there is sufficient staff to meet the requirements of section 34 of the Child Care Licensing Regulation.

• A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment]

  Observation. Licensing observed a current record regarding the implementation of yearly emergency practices was not kept. Manager stated they performed the practice but were not able to find the records.

  Corrective action. Ensure a current record regarding the implementation of yearly emergency practices is kept.

  3020 - CCLR 56(1)(c)
• A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure

  Observation. Licensing observed that attendance records were not showing children in care were absent.

  Corrective action. Ensure current records for each child in care are showing daily attendance indicating for each day whether the child is absent, present, time of arrival and departure.

• A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

  Observation. Licensing observed that one staff certificate was not posted in a prominent place.

  Corrective action. Ensure a copy of the certificate of any educator or assistant employed is displayed in a prominent place.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed seven staff files. One file did not contain character references.

  Corrective action. Ensure character references in respect of the person are obtained for all employees.

• A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the certificate of an educator was not posted.

  Corrective action. Ensure all educator and assistant educator certificates are displayed in a prominent place in the community care facility.

• Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

  Observation. Licensing observed two ECE and one RA (substituting for an ECEA) with nine toddlers in the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) program. Minimum requirements for this category of care are one ITE, one ECE and on ECEA for nine children.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than permitted in Schedule E.

  Corrective action. Ensure the community care facility has in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.
