The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]
Observation. There is one low slide unit and one play house in the yards as well as the sand box/ sand toys and many loose parts. Wheeled and push toys are provided. Noted that a canopy has been secured within the yard so that children and staff can have respite from sun and rain. So far the grass is doing well. Sand is low and requires replenishing. Observed that the main entry gate directly into the yard (north gate) latches but the self closure is not working. All other gates are in good working condition - latches and self closures. Fencing is in satisfactory condition. Discussed above with the Manager. Manager said she would share the above with the supervisor and Licensee representative.
