A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].
Observation. -Missing paper towels/single-use towels for hand drying after handwashing. -Ensure children are using the sinks located in the washroom for handwashing after toileting to help prevent the spread of communicable disease and to support proper hygiene practices. -A sharp and rusty metal object was observed along the fence in the front outdoor play area near the side walkway. This item was apart of a previous sensory or activity board. This item is no longer in good repair and poses a risk of injury. -A large tear was observed in a child’s portable training toilet seat, exposing the fabric lining. This item is not in good repair and is difficult to effectively clean and sanitize.

Observation. -Licensing observed some food supplies as part of the program’s emergency preparedness supplies; however, no water was available at the time of inspection. Adequate food and water supplies sufficient for a 72-hour period for each child in the program are to be maintained and available at all times.

Observation. -Licensing observed that one staff member in the program had a recently expired criminal record check.

Observation. -Some staff files were observed to be missing immunization status documentation and records of work history (resume).

Observation. Upon arrival, Licensing observed the 30 Months to School Age program playing in their designated outdoor play area. Shortly after, the group moved to the front outdoor play space and mixed with the Under 36 Months program. Licensing informed the Manager that the groups must remain separate and stay within their designated outdoor play areas.

Observation. Licensing observed that two staff members in the program did not have current criminal record checks (CRCs) on file. The Manager informed Licensing that CRCs for these two staff were completed. Licensing requested that the Manager provide copies of the CRCs to confirm compliance. As of the completion of this report, the CRC documentation has not been received. Therefore, a non-compliance will be issued, as the documents were not readily available at the time of inspection.
