Observation. Licensing Officer observed medication for 3 children with life threatening allergies did not have on file a Request for Administration of Medication form. In addition, Licensing Officer observed an expired epi-pen for 1 child.

The licensee does not keep a current care plan for each child requiring extra support. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)] ; Care plans are not reviewed at least once a year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent. [CCLR Sec. 58(2)(b)]
Observation. Licensing Officer observed three care plans for children with life threatening allergies. Two of which were incomplete. The care plans did not contain information such as the child's photo or where the medication is stored. In addition, while one care plan appears to have been reviewed this year the epi-pen expiry date indicated on the care plan does not appear to have been updated to reflect the new epi-pen expiry date of July 2026.

All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec. 20]
Observation. Licensing Officer observed a Criminal Record Check on file for 1 staff issued by the RCMP. Discussion took place with regards to obtaining Criminal Record Checks through the Criminal Records Review Program for all staff.
