  Observation. Fibar appeared to be compacted down and requires a top up to mitigate any injuries from falls.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that the dryer was not working in the program. The Manager informed Licensing that it was broken and they had tried to replace it. An electrician had informed them that the facility does not have the upgraded wiring for newer model dryers, (the one they currently have is over 30 years old) therefore they must upgrade the wiring in order to replace the dryer. As the program does the laundering of all the bedding and the kitchen linen's a new dryer is required.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the wood chips in the playground appeared to be low and require replenishing.

  Observation. Licensing observed cleaning supplies on top of the paper towel holder in one the children's washrooms. These cleaning supplies were accessible to children.

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that a fire drill had not been documented for July and August.
