    Observation. On May 15, licensing observed that the diaper mat had a tear in it making sanitizing a challenge. Staff stated they were aware and had already requested a new change mat. This item remains outstanding.

    Observation. Licensing observed a tall cabinet that held diapers in the bathroom. The cabinet was not secured to the wall and posed a tipping hazard.

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. Licensing observed the following on the North auxiliary outdoor play space along 41st Avenue: 1) One unsecured wood pallet standing upright against the fence holding flower pots and one unsecured pallet standing upright against the building. The pallets pose a risk of tipping over onto a child. 2) A prolific growth of two different types of mushrooms all over the seeded lawn. 3) A wooden climbing ramp on a grass berm that was placed in close proximity to the fence. The ramp did not have sufficient clearance for entering and exiting. 4) Broken loose wood stepping stones. 5) Adult gardening tools, ladder, wood pieces and a wheelbarrow with standing water against the building. Staff informed licencing that the North auxiliary outdoor play space along 41st Avenue has not been used so far. Licensing observed at 11:00 am that there was a significant amount of traffic noise that could impair staff communications with children. The main South outdoor play space adjacent to the parking lot was in good condition.

    Observation. One child had a note on their registration form that stated they had a seizure due to high fever in January. Staff was aware of this but a seizure care pan had not been developed for the child.
