Observation. Licensing observed two Early Childhood Educator Assistants (ECEA) in the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) program with seven children. One of the ECEAs was replacing an Infant and Toddler Educator (ITE) that was absent due to illness. Requirements for Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) are one Early Childhood Educator (ECE) and one ITE for five to eight children. Licensing observed an ECE and a Responsible Adult (RA) in the Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) program with thirteen children. The RA had an ECEA certificate that expired in April 2023. The requirement for Group Child Care (30 Months to School Age) is one ECE and one ECEA for eight to sixteen children.
Corrective action. Ensure the ratio of employees to children is no less than Schedule E.
