- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Upon arrival Licensing observed cut fruits for children's snack consumption stored uncovered on the kitchen counter at room temperature. Staff informed that this snack was prepared at 9:00am and will be served to children at approximately by 10:30 am. Licensing provided education for safe food storage that once fruits are cut they should be stored at a temperature between 0-4 degrees Celsius.
Corrective action. Please ensure food for children's consumption is stored at temperature between 0-4 degrees Celsius.

A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,
Observation. Medication required in a child's care plan was past its best before date.
Corrective action. Please ensure any medications named in a child's care plan is not expired.
10120 - CCALA s.7(1)(b)(i) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During inspection Licensing reviewed two staff files. Immunization status was not obtained for one staff. Manager corrected this during inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Review of the attendance records indicated that one child's arrival time was missing from today's attendance record. Staff entered their arrival time during the inspection.
Corrective action. Please ensure that children's attendance records indicate time of arrival and departure.
