    Observation. Licensing observed that there were no records of fire drills or emergency plan practices. Manager stated that fire drills were conducted monthly but was unable to produce the record of monthly fire drills. Furhter, the Manager stated that the previous annual practice of the emergency plan ( BC Shakeout in Fall 2022) was conducted before they were hired as Manager, and was unable to produce the record of the annual practice.

    Corrective action. Ensure that monthly fire drills and annual emergency practices are recorded.

    Observation. Licensing reviewed 5 of 5 employee records and observed that one employee did not have a current first aid certificate. Manager stated that this employee had worked alone at the end of day shift. Manager further stated that this employee would not work alone until they had renewed their first aid certificate.

    Corrective action. Ensure children have, at all times, immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the approved Corrective Action Plan for Lead in Water (2 minute flush) was not being recorded. Manager stated that the 2 minute flush was being done as part of the opening staff's duties, but it was not being recorded.

    Corrective action. Ensure to operate the facility in a manner that will promote the health, safety, and dignity of persons in care, including compliance with the Corrective Action Plan for Lead in Water.
