The Licensing Officer discussed with the Licensee the additional support provided to a child attending the facility, along with the written care plan the Licensee developed in collaboration with the parent. The Licensee has not documented recent updates or changes to the procedures for supporting the child, nor has the modifications related to the program of activities been recorded to ensure ongoing compliance. Updating children's care plans and recording compliance with modifications are essential for ensuring ongoing safety and to track progress. Submit to the Licensing Officer by December 1, 2025 the corrective actions taken to ensure ongoing compliance.

    Observation. Previous certification for first aid for the Licensee and other staff have expired. The staff recently completed an online course and received a certificate for CPR; however, Licensing determined it does not meet legislative requirements for acceptable first aid and CPR in licensed child care. Licensing also reviewed with the Licensee the systems developed to alert when required training or required records are expiring to ensure compliance is maintained and is satisfied with the Licensee's actions to prevent this from re-occurring in the future. All other staff records were complete and up to date. Submit to Licensing by the follow up date requested, copies of the first aid certification completed.

    Observation. The required criminal record review for a person over 12 years residing at the home has expired. The Licensee did attempt to complete the application process online but was unsuccessful. Licensing will provide the Licensee with the information and instructions to complete the process manually. The follow up date provided is for the timeframe for the application process to be completed.

    Observation. On review of child records, some required information was missing. The follow up date provided is the timeline for the Licensee to update current registrations, the template for future registrations, and the system the Licensee has developed for ensuring compliance is maintained.

    Observation. LO reviewed with the Licensee, processes and routines for disinfecting toys, diapering, and the basic cleaning of the facility. Licensing was satisfied the Licensee has an adequate system for cleaning and disinfecting; however, handwashing practices are not consistent. LO observed children transition to lunch without handwashing first. The Licensee stated handwashing will be increased at the facility for staff and children. Licensing was satisfied the non-compliance was addressed during the inspection.
