The certificates, or copies of certificates, of early childhood educators and assistants are prominently displayed in the facility. [CCLR 11(4)]

The licence is displayed in a prominent place in the facility, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and including the name of the manager. [CCLR Sec. 11(1)(2); CCALA Sec.7(c)]

Information on the food and drink given to children is made available to parents. [CCLR Sec. 48(6)]

Observation. Children are provided with snack twice a day and menu of food and drink given to children is not posted.

Employees have access to reliable communications equipment in an emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(4)]

Observation. Staff use personal phones for communication. Parents have manager's number for communication; however, manager is not always in facility.

There is an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency. [CCLR Sec. 22(1)(b)]

Observation. No emergency plan or equipment was on site and staff were not educated in any procedure to respond to or recover from any emergency.

All records referred to in CCLR sections 56 to 58 are kept in a single place at the facility. [CCLR Sec. 59(a)]

Observation. No employee records are kept on site at the facility.

Maintenance of Equipment: A log is kept of all inspections, maintenance and repairs. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

Observation. A log of inspections has not been created.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry [CCLR Sec. 19(4)(a)]

Observation. No evidence of ECE or ECEA certificates were available to assess.

Evidence of compliance with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs has not been obtained. [CCLR Sec.19(1)(b)]; Character references have not been obtained. Observation. Records of documentation are not on site for review and therefore cannot assessed.

Employees are of good character, have the personality, ability and temperament necessary to work with children, have the training and experience and demonstrate the skills necessary to carry out the duties assigned. [CCLR Sec 19(2)]

Observation. No files were available to assess the training or experience of the employees.

There is evidence of employees' continued compliance with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. [CCLR Sec 21(1)]

Observation. No evidence of employee compliance with the Province's immunization was available to assess.

Staff are trained in the implementation of the fire drill system and the emergency plan, including the use of any equipment noted in the fire drill system and emergency plan. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(a)]

Observation. Staff are not educated in any emergency plan or evacuation plan. Staff are not aware of equipment noted in either plan.

Fire drills are not practiced at least once each month. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)]

At all times children have immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, is knowledgeable respecting each child's medical condition, if any, and is capable of communicating with emergency personnel. [CCLR Sec. 23(1)]

Observation. Manager has first aid but evidence of certification was not on site.
