- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. A play pen has a hole on the meshing posing a hazard for entrapment.
Corrective action. Ensure the play pen is in good repair.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. Care plan not developed in consultation with the parent or any person requested by the parent.
Corrective action. Ensure a care plan is developed.
19250 - CCLR s.58(2)(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. LO observed and discussed the following with the staff today: - Unlocked front loader washer and dryer in the eating area accessible to children. -Gas stove/oven in the kitchen ( accessible to children) require safety knob cover and door lock.
Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. LO discussed the following with the staff, re: diaper changing area (children's eating area). To relocate the diaper changing area to the washroom.
Corrective action. Ensure that diaper change is done in the washroom next to a sink and covered garbage can.
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. No records for annual emergency drills (2022/2023).
Corrective action. Ensure that current records are kept for monthly fire drills and yearly emergency drill.
13050 - CCLR s.56(1)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. There were 7 children signed in but only 6 children present. 1 child was not signed out.
Corrective action. Ensure accurate attendance record is kept, indicating time of arrival and departure of the child.
