Posting the manager's name ensures transparency and accountability in a licensed child care facility, making it clear who is responsible for overseeing operations and safety. Submit a response with evidence of compliance by March 16, 2026.

    Observation. - Care is being provided for more than 4 hours per day to a few children. Children in a preschool program may only be cared for a maximum of 4 hours each day to ensure the program stays within the preschool licensed category as required.     Observation. The Licensing Officer reviewed employee records and observed incomplete information such as missing evidence of immunization and character references. At the time of inspection, a volunteer was present who was also missing a character reference and evidence of immunization as required under Section 19(5) of the Child Care Licensing Regulation. Ensure employee and volunteer records are complete.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

    Observation. The storage room, that contained hazardous items, was accessible to children at the time of inspection. Ensure children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to their health and safety.

  • C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical

    Observation. The Licensing officer reviewed child records which were observed to be missing the date on which children stop attending the community care facility. Ensure child records are complete.

    Observation. There was no evidence that the Licensee had validated the educator's certificate to practice through the BC ECE Registry.

    Observation. Employee records were reviewed and some required information was missing such as immunization status, valid criminal record checks and current ECE certificate to practice.

    Observation. Some child records were reviewed and found to be missing some required information, such as the date of enrollment, medical insurance number and medical practitioner phone number. Child absences are not being recorded.

    Observation. This item remains out of compliance. Due to high radon results a mitigation system has been installed. A follow up long term radon test result is required to ensure the mitigation system is effective. This testing is required to be a minimum of 90 days during the fall/winter months. A resource sheet has been provided with this report.

  • C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical

    Observation. C2.1B - Regulation 22 - The facility has an emergency evacuation plan that includes food supplies. The food supplies observed today are expired.

    Observation. C4.1E - Regulation 57 - A child record was observed today missing special instruction in writing from the parent regarding a potential medical situation.
